Elizabeth Kleinveld is a self-taught artist and photographer from New Orleans. who lives in the Netherlands. Kleinveld spent a year and a half documenting the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This work was exhibited at the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Colorado Fine Arts Center, the United States Senate, The Hague City Hall, ABN AMRO, and more. In 2007, she began creating a series of photographs inspired by exotic flowers and their reflections in water. In addition to this fine art series, Kleinveld has photographed flowers at the Botanical Gardens in New Orleans, Kew Gardens in London and the Keukenhof in the Netherlands (to see this work, go to the Keukenhof Tulip Gallery). More of this work may also be found on the website of her agent, Advocate Art of London. Kleinveld's work has been catalogued in the New Orleans Museum of Art’s catalog Katrina Exposed (2006) and in the Road to Peace exhibition in The Hague (2007). She has been covered by the Washington Post, Het Financieele Dagblad, Het Algemeen Dagblad, De Volkskrant, Trouw, Leidsch Dagblad, and by other newspapers and Fine Art journals. Her work is held by the New Orleans Museum of Art, Louisiana State Museum, the Dutch Embassy in Washington D.C.and in other public and private collections internationally. |
