Katrina Series Elizabeth Kleinveld started working on the Katrina series as a way to document the devastation she witnessed upon first returning to New Orleans approximately two months after the hurricane. During the first year after the storm, she returned to her hometown six times, each time documenting different aspects of the aftermath. During that year, she exhibited her workat the Expansionist Art Empire Gallery in Leiden, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the United States Senate. Kleinveld continues to work on Katrina-related projects and to exhibit the Katrina series,which has been shown recently in Amsterdam at Menno Kroon, VakZuid and with poet Rogi Wieg at Gallery Arps & Co. at the Dikker & Thijs hotel. The show with Rogi Wieg, entitled, 'It Ain't Necessarily So' is at the ABN AMRO Bank, Dialogues House through the end of August. |
